Celebrity house move to LondonWhat is it about London that is so alluring to famous people that would make house moving worth it? Quite a lot of celebrities who decided to make London their new home and say nothing but good things about it. They come from different places and have different career paths, but definitely share one thing and that is their love for the city.

Celebrities, Who Decided to Move to London

There are probably hundreds of famous people living in London. Here we’ll be looking at those who are not originally from the UK but decided to move their homes to the British capital.

  • Madonna

The famous singer, who also is an actress and a producer, is known to be the owner of several properties. We guess one of the main reasons for that is the continuous travelling from one point in the world to another. And probably because the constant house moving is not an option.
Madonna is the owner of apartments in New York and Los Angeles, and recently – a mansion in Lisbon, Portugal. Although these are attractive cities, she’s chosen her main residence to be London. The singer actually owns a few properties across the city. Recently, it was announced the apartment where she and her ex-husband Guy Ritchie lived, is now up on the market as a luxurious vacation rental.

  • Celebrity house move in LondonTim Burton

We’re all fans of Tim Burton and his work. We all fell in love with Edward from “Edward Scissorhands” and were terrified by “Sweeny Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.” Mostly known for his gothic, dark and eccentric taste in the movies he creates, to no surprise Tim Burton has chosen to call London his home for most of the past two decades.
The interesting thing here is the living arrangement Burton and his partner have – living separately together. He and Helena Bonham Carter own adjoining homes allowing them to live together, but in their own space. We guess it was quite hard on the house removals company as the houses are actually three – one for Tim Burton, one for his partner and one for their children.

  • Johnny Depp

To be honest, we can’t mention Tim Burton and not think of his amazing friend and actor Johnny Depp. He is best known for his role in “Pirates of the Caribbean.” He also stars in quite a few of Tim Burton’s productions – “Edward Scissorhands”, “Corpse Bride”, “Alice in Wonderland” and many, many more.
Besides being an owner of an island in the Bahamas, a mansion in France, and nearly a dozen apartments in the US, Captain Jack Sparrow is a British homeowner as well.

  • celebrities moving houses to LondonKevin Spacey

The American actor and producer is one of the most successful figures of the Hollywood industry. He is best known for his roles in “The usual suspects”, “American Beauty”, “Seven” and “House of cards.”
The famous film star bought an apartment in London back in 2009. When Kevin Spacey decided to move houses, he was still an owner of a luxurious property in LA, which is known to be sold in 2016.

  • Kylie Minogue

The petite Australian actually started her career starring in the soap opera “Neighbours” before becoming the famous singer she is now. Being in the spotlight for more than 30 years as a singer and an actress, Kylie Minogue is known to have spent most of that time in London. Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, she took the house moving decision in 1990 when she started living in the UK.

Why Did They Move Their Houses to London?

Well, there are two main reasons driving people to such a decision – it’s either work or love, or at least that’s the case with most of the celebrities.
Having lived in London while filming “Batman” (1988), Tim Burton visited the city frequently and ended up moving there to be with his partner. Love was also the main reason for Madonna and her decision to move. Kylie Minogue and Kevin Spacey, however, did it for their work and career. The permanent residence was decided back in 1990 for Kylie when she moved and signed to a record label – PWL. For Kevin Spacey this happened when he took the position of an Art director of The Old Vic Theatre in 2004.

House Moving Process

So, if these celebrities moved to London, why shouldn’t you? The city is amazing, has plenty to offer and you could fall in love with it immediately.

Celebrities relocating to London

Yes, we know we don’t all have the perks a famous person would have. We could just imagine a team of assistants and agents doing the work for them – deciding on the best area, picking the right apartment, after that seeking out the best cleaning services, the most trusted house removals company in London, etc., which makes the process easier.

The thought of doing all this by ourselves is not so comforting but still, it would be a wonderful experience that leads to having a cosy home in one of the greatest cities in the world.

House removals could be the best decision you’d ever make just as Kevin Spacey has realized: “Moving to London has given me a whole new perspective, not only on America but on the world itself.”
And when asked about living here, Tim Burton shared the following: “I remember feeling like I’d lived here before, and I liked it. Then I made “Sleepy Hollow” and stayed for 18 months. Since then, I’ve tried to do everything here.”

So whether it’s for work or love, or you just need a change in your life – go for it. New opportunities and adventures are waiting.
