Moving Tips

Moving tips from Top Removals LondonTo start with, the best advice is to sit down and create a comprehensive list of every item which you intend to pack and move. Using a computer, laptop or smartphone for this task can save you plenty of time, as you can create a numbered list for each box and its contents.

Ensure that you have all necessary relevant moving supplies at the ready, such as boxes and bubble wrap. You will want to make sure you have plenty of room for everything and that your items are safe over the course of the journey. And remember to keep a few boxes spare for last-minute inclusions like your clothing and bedding.

For large, bulkier items and items like pillows, blankets, and clothes, wardrobe boxes are ideal.

When using a wardrobe box you need to make sure those clothes and other belongings are tightly packed, otherwise, they could move around, falling off hangers while in transit, resulting in crumpled up clothes. Dry cleaning bags are a great idea for keeping dresses and suits protected.

Placing related items in the same container can be a great time saver. Using envelopes to hold smaller items, and having spare boxes for cables and powers leaders, is a good strategy.

Allow yourself breathing room. It is no good leaving everything to the last minute, it is much better to get organised well in advance of the big move. Packing everything but your essentials is the best plan of action. Plates, cups, utensils and such can all be packed right before the move.

Try to keep personally luggage separate from other items. When you move into your new home you will want your personal essentials at hand, such as toilet paper, sheets, clothing, and towels.

You should keep vital information in a briefcase of a separate box to your other belongings. CVs, birth certificates, etc are too important to be thrown in with the rest of your belongings.

You will want to safeguard all of your personal belongings and valuables. We suggest to customers that they take such items in their own car on the day of the move, doing away with the need to be separated from them.

When you’ve finished packing you should make sure your property is cleaned. If needed we have a sister company, Top Cleaners, who can provide a professional cleaning service, leaving your house spotless as can be. For further details go to – http://www.topcleaners.uk
